Gambryo is a cross-platform game engine written in C++. It is a suit of several C++ libraries, plug-ins and run-time libraries. The engine supports several platforms like Windows, Android, Mac, Linux, iOS, Wii, Wii Ware, Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS X, PS 2, PSP, PS3 and PS4. It was developed by Gamebase USA and Gamebase Co., ltd. It also become the basis for Creation Game Engine.
The Netlmmerse game engine that was found in 1997 evolved into Gamebryo LightSpeed in 2003. The staff of the development team was downsized in 2009 and the company completely closed in July 2010. In December 2010, Gamebase Co., ltd purchased the assets and technology of the engine and released new version Gambryo 4.0 in 2012. This engine is licensed for use and provides technical assistance to the user in English, Korean and Chinese via multiple means.
Many top companies employed the engine for their game developments including 2K Games, Tencent, Sony, NCSoft, Shand and Firaxis. Bethesda software has almost all their games developed in this engine. More than 300 games has been developed using Gamebryo that belong to different genres i.e., Action/Adventure, Racing, Sports, RPG(Role-Play Game), MMP (Massively Multi-Player), FPS(First Person Shooter), Visual Simulation Games, Puzzle, Strategy and Parlor games.

The focus of the engine is on prototyping, rapid and iterative developing. Prototyping help the customer see the game before development. Iterative nature of the engine enables developers to add features to the game without modifying the source code. These are said to be some performance issues that include the lack of optimal hardware usage.
