My experience with programming is not too deep, but it goes back to the days of punch cards. Got my first shot at programming as a Penn State freshman in the winter of 1967-68. My primary interest lies in transportation simulation (queueing) models, then being developed (first for barges, later for railroads) at the same time. A strong rail hobby interest, particularly in signaling and traffic control (I was also lucky enough to work one summer for Amtrak as a signalman) led me to attempt to write an algorithm simulating the thought process of a dispatcher, first in BASIC, which I’m now attempting to upgrade to C++ and to interact with another rail simulator. The screen name is borrowed form an itinerant telegrapher created in the 1920’s by a pulp-fiction writer named Harry Bedwell, BTW.EddySandy
